from our weekend camping excursion, here is how the conversation went:
D - Okay, look out the window and see if you can see any animals.
Bubby: Like ELF?
Me: It's ELK, Bubby. With a K.
Bubby: Are you talking about ELK?
Me: Yes.
Bubby: I don't see any.
And that was the beginning of a WAY TOO LONG CAR RIDE. Yes, my adventuring husband said, "Let's take a different way home than we came". This turned into SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS in the car yesterday. It should NEVER take that long to get home from CAMPING. At about hour 6 I said,"Wow, we could have camped at Zion's for as long as this ride home is!". Really, we were only camping about 4 hours away - IF we had not chosen the "road less traveled by!"
And now we know.
